Mobile Diesel Technician (San Diego, CA)

Strong Mobile Diesel LLC is continuing to grow, thus expanding our coverage region. We are currently seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician to become a part of our team. You will diagnose, adjust, and repair diesel engines on tractors, trailers, and other heavy duty equipment. This job is based out of San Diego, CA and requires travel to job sites within the greater San Diego area. We provide you with a late model (2024 or newer) service vehicle, cell phone, company credit card and uniforms, you bring your hand tools.

Compensation:

  • Hourly Range is $34.50/hr to $75.00/hr DOE ($71,760 to $156,000 Annualized)

  • 100% Paid Employee Medical Insurance Coverage (BlueShield Silver Full PPO)

  • Minimum 2 consecutive days off per week

  • 40 hours (or five days) of paid sick leave per year

  • Paid weekly (direct deposit)

  • Performance based bonuses/commission after 90 day trial period

  • Tool allowance after six months employment ($30 per quarter)

  • Boot allowance after six months employment ($100 per year)

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines

  • Perform roadside repairs quickly and efficiently

  • Communicate with dispatch accurate ETA times

  • Communicate with billing accurate photos and job write-ups

  • Perform routine vehicle tune-ups and maintenance

  • Provide labor and time estimates for repairs

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Must possess a current valid driver's license

  • Previous experience as a diesel technician, or relevant education (Diesel Certification program, etc)

  • Knowledge of diagnostic and repair equipment

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

  • Deadline and detail-oriented

  • Possess a basic amount of heavy duty hand tools

Bonus:

  • Class A CDL

  • Previous experience as a mobile diesel mechanic

  • Previous experience working with motor clubs and/or fleet management
